Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how your data is handled when you use our tools.

Last updated:

1. Introduction

Free Digital Utilities ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website freedigitalutilities.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle data.

The short version: we collect as little as possible, process your files locally in your browser wherever possible, and we never sell your information.

2. What We Don't Collect

We are proud to confirm that we do not collect:

  • Personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or physical address
  • Files you process through our PDF, signature, or conversion tools
  • Signatures, QR codes, or images you create
  • Passwords or other sensitive values you generate
  • Temporary email addresses or their message content
  • Detailed browsing behaviour or clickstream data
  • Location data beyond your country (derived from IP, used only for analytics aggregates)

3. What We May Collect

We may collect limited, non-personal technical data to operate and improve the site:

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics (aggregated page views, referrer sources, browser types) to understand how the site is used. No personal profiles are built.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider may log standard web server information (IP address, request path, timestamp) for security and stability purposes. These logs are retained briefly and not used for tracking.

AI Tool Requests

Some AI-powered features (such as the AI Signature Generator and PDF translation) send data to a processing server. This data is used solely to generate your result and is not stored after processing completes.

4. Browser Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences (such as dark/light theme). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

We do not use sessionStorage or IndexedDB to persist sensitive information.

5. Third-Party Services

Some tools rely on third-party services:

  • Temporary Email (mail.tm) — The temporary email tool connects to the mail.tm public API. Emails are stored on mail.tm's servers temporarily. Do not use temporary email addresses for sensitive communications. Refer to mail.tm's privacy policy for their data practices.
  • Hosting (Hostinger) — Our website is hosted on Hostinger. Their infrastructure may log technical data as described above.
  • API Server (Render.com) — Our AI processing server is hosted on Render.com. Data sent for AI features is processed and discarded; it is not logged or stored.

We do not embed advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party scripts that build user profiles.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to operate the site:

  • Essential cookies — store your theme preference (dark/light mode) in localStorage. These never leave your device.
  • Consent cookie — records your cookie consent choice so you are not asked again on every visit.
  • Analytics cookies — if you accept optional cookies, aggregate analytics data (page views, referrer, browser type) may be collected. No personal profiles are built.
  • Advertising cookies — if you accept optional cookies, third-party advertising services (such as Google AdSense) may set cookies to serve relevant ads. See the Advertising section below for details.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data or by clicking "Cookie details" in the consent banner at the bottom of the page.

7. Advertising

We may display advertisements on this site to help fund the free tools we provide. We use or may use the following advertising services:

Google AdSense

Google AdSense may serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info.

Your Control

Advertising cookies are only placed if you have accepted optional cookies via our consent banner. You may choose "Necessary only" at any time to limit cookies to essential functionality. Ads may still be shown but will not be personalised.

8. Children's Privacy

Our tools are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this page periodically.
